Acconeer completes AEC – Q100 grade 3 qualification of the A1 radar sensor for the automotive industry

The A1 sensor AEC – Q100 grade 3 qualification, which covers the temperatures -40°C – +85°C, has been completed a quarter ahead of previously announced plans.

AEC – Q100 is a failure mechanism based stress test qualification for integrated circuits used in automotive applications. This specification has been established by the Automotive Electronics Council (AEC) to define qualification requirements and procedures for integrated circuits used in the automotive industry. An
AEC – Q100 qualified device means that the device has passed the specified stress tests and guarantees a certain level of quality and reliability.

Acconeers radarsensor A1 erhåller kvalificering AEC – Q100 nivå 3 för bilindustrin

Kvalificeringen av radarsensorn A1 enligt AEC – Q100 nivå 3, som täcker temperaturer mellan -40°C – +85°C, erhålls ett kvartal tidigare jämfört med tidigare kommunicerad plan.

AEC – Q100 är en stresstest-baserad kvalificering för integrerade kretsar tänkta att användas i applikationer för bilindustrin. Specifikationen har etablerats av Automotive Electronics Council (AEC) och syftar till att definiera krav och procedurer för integrerade kretsar för bilindustrin. Att en komponent är kvalificerad enligt AEC – Q100 innebär att den har passerat specificerade stresstest och garanterar en viss nivå av kvalitet och tillförlitlighet.

Acconeer extends distributor agreement with Restar to include the Americas

Acconeer has extended the agreement with Restar Electronics Corporation to include the Americas. Since July 2019 the two companies have a distributor agreement for the Japanese market, and the decision to extend it to the Americas comes as a natural result of the good progress seen in Japan.

Acconeer utökar distributörsavtal med Restar till Amerika

Acconeer har utökat avtalet med Restar Electronics Corporation så att det även inkluderar Amerika. Sedan juli 2019 har de två bolagen ett distributörsavtal för den japanska marknaden, och beslutet att utöka det till Amerika kommer som ett resultat av de framsteg som nåtts i Japan.

Acconeer and Alps Alpine have entered into an MoU for a joint development agreement of Next-Generation Sensing Technology

Acconeer AB and Alps Alpine Co., Ltd. ("Alps Alpine") have today, April 24th 2020, entered into a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (the "MoU") of a joint development agreement to develop next generation patented Pulse Coherent sensors, targeting a wide range of applications in the automotive, industrial and consumer segments including mobile phones. The MoU prescribes that Alps Alpine will contribute up to USD 7 million towards the development of the product and that Alps Alpine will receive exclusivity for the new product for the automotive market. The product is planned to be ready for production during 2023.

A legally binding final agreement is expected to be entered into during 2020. Subject to such agreement, payments are expected to commence in 2021 and end in 2023. Alps Alpine is a world-leading manufacturer of electronic components, modules and systems. Further information on Alps Alpine are set out at the bottom of this press release.

Acconeer och Alps Alpine har ingått ett MoU-avtal om ett gemensamt utvecklingsavtal avseende nästa generations sensorteknik

Acconeer AB och Alps Alpine Co., Ltd. ("Alps Alpine") har idag, 24 April 2020, ingått ett icke-bindande Memorandum of Understanding ("MoU") om ett gemensamt utvecklingsavtal för att utveckla nästa generations patenterade pulsad koherent sensor, med sikte på ett brett utbud av applikationer i bil-, industri- och konsumentbranscherna inklusive mobiltelefoni. Enligt MoU-avtalet ska Alps Alpine bidra med upp till 70 miljoner SEK för utveckling av produkten samt erhålla exklusivitet för den nya produkten i bilbranschen. Produkten planeras vara klar för produktion under 2023.

En rättsligt bindande och slutgiltig överenskommelse förväntas att ingås under 2020. Om ett sådant avtal ingås förväntas betalningar att inledas under 2021 och avslutas 2023. Acconeer’s revenue was 210 k USD during first quarter 2020

Ahead of Acconeer's annual general meeting (AGM), which starts 14 April 17.30, previously unpublished figures for three important parameters are published:

  • Revenue – Acconeer's revenue was 210 000 USD during the first quarter 2020, which is a growth with 16% compared to the previous quarter and 284% compared to the first quarter 2019.
  • Number of sold evaluation kits (EVKs) – During the first quarter 2020 Acconeer sold 358 EVKs.
  • Customer launches – the total number of customer launches with Acconeer's radar is after the first quarter 2020 in total 17. This is a growth with three compared to the previous quarter.

Acconeers intäkter uppgick till 2,1 miljoner SEK under första kvartalet 2020

Inför Acconeers årsstämma, som inleds tisdagen 14 april 17.30, presenteras tidigare opublicerade siffror över tre parametrar som är viktiga för bolaget:

  • Intäkter – Acconeers intäkter var 2 114 tusen kronor under första kvartalet 2020, vilket innebär en tillväxt på 16% jämfört med föregående kvartal samt 284% jämfört med första kvartalet 2019.
  • Antalet sålda utvärderingskit (EVK:er) – Under första kvartalet 2020 sålde Acconeer 358 utvärderings kit.
  • Kundlanseringar – Det totala antalet kundlanseringar med Acconeers radar uppgår efter första kvartalet 2020 till 17. Detta innebär en tillväxt med tre stycken jämfört med föregående kvartal.

Acconeer awarded three design wins by ALPS ALPINE for presence detection in cars to a European premium car manufacturer

The radar technology company Acconeer AB has been chosen by ALPS ALPINE to deliver radar sensors for the use case presence detection in cars to a European premium car manufacturer. Acconeer estimates the total potential value of the design wins to US$ 9-12 million over three years starting in 2022. By "design win" Acconeer refers to that the company's radar sensor has been selected for use in a customer product, but it is not equivalent to that an order has been placed.

These are the first design wins in this area for Acconeer. ALPS ALPINE is a world-leading manufacturer of electronic components, modules, and systems for cars.

Acconeer's unique ultra-low power and high precision radar sensor will be included in several of ALPS ALPINE's products serving different use cases. The new design wins announced today are for the use case presence detection, which is driven by industry standards such as European and Australasian New Car Assessment Programs (Euro NCAP and ANCAP). They provide consumers with independent information on the level of safety offered by vehicles in the event of a severe accident. In other geographies, demand for sensor technology will be driven by legislation such as the US "Hot Cars Act".

Acconeer tilldelas tre ”design wins” av ALPS ALPINE för närvarodetektering i bilar hos en europeisk premiumtillverkare

Radarteknikbolaget Acconeer AB har valts av ALPS ALPINE att leverera radarsensorer för användningsfallet närvarodetektering i bilar till en europeisk biltillverkare i premiumsegmentet. Acconeer uppskattar det totala potentiella värdet av dessa design wins till 90-120 miljoner SEK över tre år med start 2022. Med "design win" syftar Acconeer på att bolagets radarsensor har valts ut för användning i en kunds produkt, vilket inte är samma sak som att en order har lagts.

Detta är de första design wins inom området för Acconeer. ALPS ALPINE är en världsledande tillverkare av elektronikkomponenter, moduler och system för bilar.

Acconeers unika radarsensor, med låg strömförbrukning och hög precision, kommer att inkluderas i flera av ALPS ALPINES produkter för olika användningsfall. De nya design wins som annonseras idag är för närvarodetektering i bilar, vilket drivs av industristandarder som europeiska och australasiatiska New Car Assessment Programs (Euro NCAP och ANCAP). De tillhandahåller oberoende konsumentinformation om säkerhetsnivån i fordon vid allvarliga olyckor. I andra geografiska regioner drivs krav på sensorteknik av lagstiftning, exempelvis den amerikanska "Hot Cars Act".
