Woojoojoocha, the Korean word for “parking spaces around us.”
A Real-Time, Map-Based Smart Parking Platform
Woojoojoocha is a smart parking information platform with the company headquartered in Jeju, South Korea. Through high-precision IoT sensors, a cloud-based integrated system, and a mobile app, the company provides citizens and operators with real-time, map-based parking availability information.
Lack of Parking Information in Urban Areas
Parking in major Korean cities is a daily challenge, especially in Seoul where over 3 million registered vehicles crowd every available space. Woojoo’s smart parking sensors don’t just tackle the chaos; they redefine how the city parks.
Most urban drivers face common parking challenges:
- No way to know where vacant spots are
- Traditional car-counting systems are often inaccurate
- Lack of real-time, map-based parking visibility
- Difficult to view availability by zone, floor, or section in real time
For municipalities, an accurate real-time parking information system is essential to efficiently manage public parking lots, improve turnover, and reduce complaints.
Acconeer Sensor Integration and Key Differentiators
At the heart of the Wooju sensor is the Acconeer A111 pulsed coherent radar sensor. By integrating Acconeer’s radar sensor, Woojoojoocha has gained critical advantages over traditional ultrasonic or camera-based systems.
Since the launch, the Wooju sensor’s results proves the solution to be a success with a 68% reduction in average parking spot search time through map-based vacancy information, 80% decrease in customer complaints thanks to real-time status updates and much improved parking turnover rate and operational efficiency.
Real-Time, Map-Based Parking Information directly to your smart phone
Wooju sensors are installed in each parking space to detect vehicle presence and monitor temperature changes. This data is transmitted to the cloud server using either LoRaWAN or NB-IoT technology. Once processed, the information is visualized and delivered in real time. Users can access it through the Woojoojoocha mobile app, while administrators can view detailed insights via a web-based dashboard with interactive map visualization.
The system features a map-based interface that displays live parking availability by floor, section, or zone, with instant updates as vehicles arrive or leave. It provides precise data for each individual parking space, offering more accuracy than traditional lot-level monitoring. This real-time visibility helps reduce congestion and improve space turnover. The platform also supports additional functions such as fire detection, long-term parking alerts, and advanced analytics to support smarter parking management.
