Neamo is a non-contact healthcare service that measures your cat’s respiration without causing them any stress. Using Acconeer millimeter-wave radar sensing technology paired with a dedicated app that notifies you of changes, it can be used continuously without burdening either the cat or the owner. It catches subtle signs of bodily dysfunction that are difficult to see, allowing for early intervention and protecting your beloved cat’s health.

Cats have a tendency to hide their illnesses, so there is a risk that diseases may progress unnoticed. This device is intended for owners who want to detect even the slightest changes in their cat’s daily life for early detection of illnesses. It is especially suitable for those who live with cats that dislike wearable devices or physical contact with people.
This device can measure the temperature of cats that experience stress from wearable devices such as collars or clothing, or cats that dislike them and try to remove them.
We utilized EVK during the initial PoC (Proof of Concept) phase. The “Exploration Tool” allowed us to visualize the respiratory rate measurement results and the process data leading up to the display of those results in real time. This enabled us to smoothly verify the suitability and optimal parameters for Neamo’s use cases while adjusting various parameters. Specifically, we used EVK to conduct value verification and identify issues by having cat owners participate as test monitors, and to evaluate the accuracy of respiratory measurement in joint research with universities.

Acconeer’s radar sensors are used to detect a cat’s respiratory rate. By using millimeter-wave technology, it can capture even slight up-and-down movements of the chest non-contact, without attaching anything to the cat. This is an essential element in that it does not stress the cat.
