Radar-based access, the beginning of a new era

The new way of welcoming people

SKIDATA’s new gate, sMove, uses radar to take customer experience to the next level. Using the XM125 from Acconeer, sMove can detect movement and obstruction from both humans and objects, making the gate superior in many different ways.

With robustness against the harshest of environments, the XM125 allows for sMove to always work with millimeter precision, from the top of the ski slope to the hundreds of thousands of fans entering a stadium for a sold-out game.

Different venues, different needs

The ski lift, the arena or the amusement park, three places with a lot of people passing through yet three places with very different needs. Wherever you might operate, seamless access is essential to maximize efficiency and guarantee client satisfaction. Whether you need your gate to precisely distinguish one person from another to prevent fraud or allow the gate to be open for a slightly longer time to allow a family with a stroller to get through without hassle and holding up the line.

The XM125 radar module from Acconeer is integrated behind the plastic cover for minimal footprint and integrated design. With flexible range and a wide field of view, the radar ensures accuracy and versatility, allowing for both a sensor or mutable sensor solution depending on the location or needs of the gate.

Integrating Acconeer’s XM125 radar sensor into our sMove gate provides unprecedented precision and flexibility. With this new technology, we can offer our customers the ideal balance between precise isolation and comfort, alongside a wide range of adjustment options – seamlessly accommodating skiers, sports fans, or families with strollers in any environment.

A design of the future

While turnstiles do the job, requirements and needs evolve. sMove is designed to accommodate everyone, including guests with specialized equipment such as bikes, ski bobs, strollers, or wheelchairs, making it a versatile choice for all types of visitors.

With the XM125’s small footprint, the technology packed gate does not need to tamper with its size or choice of materials. Acconeer’s world leading radar is easily integrated and has the ability to make millimeter precise readings through materials such as plastic, making this new design possible without compromise.

Accessability & Radar, a match made in heaven

By using Acconeer radar, SKIDATA can deliver an accessibility solution superior to its predecessors. Offering a truly seamless experience every time and everywhere. The XM125 from Acconeer can make measurements up to 20 meters and delivers world-leading power efficiency. The module can withstand temperatures ranging from -40 °C to 85 °C, making the gate possible to function accurately in the most extreme environmental settings.
