The latest generation of Acconeer’s radar sensors has the world’s lowest power consumption and can be battery powered with a lifetime of up to 10 years.
Industry and Automation
Proximity sensing
Acconeer’s A121 radar sensor can detect a verity of materials, including carbon fibre, with millimetre precision in the harshest environments. With the automotive industry shifting to a higher usage of carbon fibre-based materials, traditional sensors fall short due to the inability to detect carbon fibre or are from a robustness perspective not suitable for use in automotive manufacturing.
Size does matter
The Acconeer sensor is small, small enough to fit within a M12 cylinder. This makes the solution superior when it comes to placement possibilities and the ability to measure down to the micrometer with a minimal blind zone. The sensor also has very rapid measurements capabilities, while still having the world’s lowest power consumption in battery powered solutions.
Other distance measurements
The Acconeer radar sensor can be used for measurements in multiple industries well beyond automotive. The radar reflects on most solid and liquid materials, making measurement possibilities in an automation context endless. The radar works well in dirty or otherwise difficult areas and can still make accurate millimetre readings despite dust, dirt or extreme temperatures.
- Vibration measurements
- Contactless real-time measurements
- 1 to 50 kHz
- Displacement on micrometer level
- Velocity and acceleration analysis possible
Automating hydraulic cylinders
Historically it has not been possible to measure cylinder movement inside the hydraulic. Thanks to Acconeer´s ability to perform close to the sensor with extremely high accuracy, this is now achivable.
Automating hydraulic cylinder movement in machines improves efficiency, precision, and safety by reducing human interaction. This leads to faster operations, lower labor costs, and fewer errors. Additionally, automation enhances productivity by allowing machines to run continuously and integrate with smart systems for real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance.
Unique Radar Technology
The sensors are today deployed in a diverse selection of industries around the world, ranging from automotive and industrial installations to consumer products and IoT solutions. Many of the end products are powered by battery and have high restrictions on power consumption. When configured smartly, these sensor solutions can reach a battery lifetime of up to 10 years.
The A121 radar sensor can also be used separately and is easily integrated into existing products.
