A2 Progress
In December of 2024, the chip design for the production variant of our upcoming radar sensor, the A2, was finalized, which is a very important milestone in the project. Earlier this year, prototypes were evaluated and successfully tested by customers in a real-world environment, leading to a first design win in the automotive industry. We also see significant opportunities with A2 outside the automotive industry and aim to get its first design win during the year.
Most recently, the production variant of the A2 arrived at our HQ in Malmö. With tireless work with validation and software, the results are looking promising to say the least as we see towards the release of our new groundbreaking radar sensor.
The A2 radar sensor has multiple antennas, making it possible to make 3D images of multiple objects. With better power consumption and superior range, the A2 won’t just make existing solutions better, it will exceed in to completely new ones.
In the video below you can see the A2 tracking multiple metal spheres, making use of its multiple antennas. In the heatmap you can see the direction and reflection of the balls, and since they are different sizes, their reflection is different on the heatmap which is represented by the difference in size. This is even clearer when a person enters the frame. Being able to distinguish different materials from multiple objects together with size and reflection opens possibilities for innovations and industries worldwide.
